Be the Change

Bethechange

As our nation and our world struggles with the senseless death of George Floyd and the other lives that are tragically lost, the quote from Mahatma Gandhi rings in my ear.  “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”

Those words are simple but yet profound.

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed right now.

From dealing with the COVID-19 virus to all of the social unrest in our world, the tendency is to throw up our hands and complain about the state of our world.

What we can do is find our own inner peace so we can bring peace to our community, nation and our world.

Without our own inner peace, we will be adding fuel to the fire.

We don’t need to preach it, we need to be it.

We don’t need to condemn people, we need to give them grace.

We don’t need to show hate, we need to be love.

As I am sitting here writing this I am contemplating what it means to be a Jesus follower.

Quite simply it means to be Jesus and to be love.

“Spread love everywhere you go.  Let no one come to you without leaving happier.”  -Mother Teresa

In a world full of unrest, confusion and angst, let’s be the change we wish to see in the world.
